Jean-Pierre is an elder statesman and true biodynamic pioneer. He and his family have been fighting the good fight for years and have been Demeter certified since the early 90's. On their 12 hectare estate they produce wines as naturally as possible with minimal intervention in both the vineyard and cellar - producing wines with a clear sense of place that's unmistakably Alsace.
We're suckers for skin contact Pinot Gris (aka Pinot Grigio, but not the kind you'll find down the local offie at two for a tenner!) and the intence amber red juice that it produces. With a relatively short maceration on skins for 7 days, it remains fresh but with a fair amount of body and structure. Expect a mouthful of red berries with a little almondy savouriness that you'd expect from an orange wine.
