Tenuta Foresto, two young winemakers from Nizza Monferrato in Italy, are doing amazing things. Pauline Alfano & Francesco Pozzobon are inspired not only by the local winemaking traditions, but also the ‘do-nothing farming’ principles of Japanese philosopher, Masunobu Fukuoka.

 

This orange wine is made from 50 year old Moscato vines. After a three-day maceration, the Moscato is pressed off the skins to continue fermentation in concrete tanks. Aged in old 700l oak tonneaux (Italian for 'barrels') for 9-10 months and bottled without sulphur.

 

A little spicy and aromatic orange that is complex and structured without the funk... so great for those orange wine newbies.

 

This one is a must-try if you have never tried a skin-macerated moscato before!
