A release from Tillingham is one we always look forward to and doesn't stick around for long! Tillingham's "R" is a British take on a Beaujolais Nouveau style - we're talking carbonic maceration resulting in a super fresh, young and vibrant cherry bomb of a wine. It's lively, crunchy and bursting with berries... drink fresh and serve slightly chilled for best results.
Nothing added, with no fining or filtration, containing only natural sulphur from the skins and yeasts from wild fermentation. 100% vegan and veggie-friendly.
Notes from winemaker Ben Walgate of Tillingham:
"Blackberry and violets on the nose. Fresh and slightly crunchy currants on the palate, bright acidity and soft round tannins.
Suitable for vegetarians/vegans: YES
Regent grapes from a nearby vineyard in Sussex, conventionally grown. The fruit was divided into a number of different batches, including whole bunch carbonic, 100% destemmed carbonic, both in concrete (some of the free-run from the former was racked to barrel). The rest wasa mixture of whole bunch and destemmed berries. Total time on skins between 4 and 10 days. Spontaneous malolactic in stainless steel after pressing. Bottled via gravity with no additions."
