On the rolling hills of Pianello winemaker and sheapard Giovanni Mesina raises his sheep on 3 hectres of organic soil, surrounded by ancient olive trees (from which he makes his own oil) and a handful of grapevines. Like his father and grandfather before him, he became a shepherd and watches over a small flock while also making natural wine.
Produced naturally with a minimalist approach in the cellar, Giovanni’s wines are incredibly special in every way; from the labels are made from grass, illustrated with the sheep of his flock to the expertly balanced juice of the wine.
Rozzo is a medium-bodied, earthy red from ‘The Shepherd Who Makes Wine’.
